Food, Drink and What's for Dinner Tonight

Lasagna di magro tonight. Lasagna made with tomato sauce, basil, fresh mozzarella and parmesan. Meatless, but good enough that you don't miss it. There'll be a green salad, too, along with a red wine from Puglia.

Carnitas. This is chunks of pork seasoned heavily with citrus and onion (and Madeira, my secret ingredient) and then fried until crisp. You then use the pork, along with cheddar cheese and salsa verde, to make soft tacos.

Corn on the cob, on the side.

French toast made with a touch of Grand Marnier and orange zest. Breakfast sausage, too.

Grilled steaks brushed with dry mustard and hot pepper sauce. A saute of greens and potatoes on the side.

Cheddar-cider fondue and a green salad.

The Khantessa will be making a quiche of sorts, that has Hatch green chile, cheddar, bacon and onion. Homemade pie crust, too. Cole slaw on the side.
