Sweet Jesus.
I gather Alice Eve is Chapel/Carol Marcus (doubtful) and the ENT takes a dip.

I can imagine the brainstorming session:
"Wait, what if we take this massive space vessel...and put it over here in all this water..."
That being said, it appears to be crashing and emerging from the water. Not a hardcore trekkie but my dad raised me on the stuff. What are the ENT's inner atmosphere flight capabilities originally?

I wouldn't have thought it was all that good but the original Enterprise was flying over the USA in the first season so I guess it's fairly sturdy.
New Enterprise however seems as big as the Death Star on the other hand.

I will say that I've always wanted to see a starship go underwater.

I was thinking that, too. But after the Empire took over. The vapor trailing fighters could be Jedi starfighters.

I will say that I like that at least Abrams' larger budgets allow us to actually really see 23rd Century Earth rather than just seeing some unconvincing matte paintings and that same damn water treatment plant over and over.
Even if it's a 23rd century that's still really corporate despite that being totally not what Roddenberry intended.
On the topic of Cumberbatch's character -- this whole idea that he wants revenge on STARFLEET, as opposed to Kirk personally, makes me think he isn't Mitchell or Khan.
And since he appears to have godly more-than-human-powers, my theory now is that maybe he's

if it is Garth it's almost genius. Pick a TOS character that most have no idea about. Gives hope that the Romulan Commander from Enterprise Incident will feature one day in Star Trek XV. Or...those women who took Spock's brain.

The Japanese trailer has extra footage, judging by what follows after the minute mark there's frightening shades of TWOK
still, I look forward to someone redoing it with TOS clips like the last movie. About the only good thing associated with it.

Looks like rubbish. Abrams has clearly taken bit and pieces of all the popular movies of the last few years - THE DARK KNIGHT, MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE 4, THE AVENGERS and anything else he ccould think of, crammed it all together and then presented it as if he created all of it and that they were just rough drafts of what would become STAR TREK INTO DARKNESS.

Anyone seen the new image of Cumberbatch in the brig?? Guess we all pegged down act 2 right.
Also his character is being listed as John Harriman now, which has me rolling on the ground with laughter.

Not seen the image no. I am guessing it has a transparent wall a la the clip of hand to hand like TWOK shot in the trailer.

Yeah. Apparently there are no forcefields in Abrams' 23rd century

FFS Abrams, just tell us who the villain is! Telling us is not gonna ruin the whole movie for everyone, that's what the movie itself will do.

The 9min reveal thing has been released though I don't have the link and I'd imagine it's not all that...illuminating.

Alice Eve's character is Carol Marcus, not Elizabeth Dehner as some theorized.
I believe this confirms my theory that the only Trek that Abrams/Orci/Kurtzman have ever seen is TWOK.

Orci: "Who else should we bring in?" Kurtzman: "How bout Carol Marcus?" Abrams: "Oh yeah, Kirk's one true love!"
