| I saw pics of the beige suit, blue shirt Bond mentioned in that article. I'll post pics if they turn up again on my newsfeed. Conjures up the superior Bond in TWINE. |

Surely his resting place is a Bolivian tip. Because you know. Edgy. |

| Not the type of 'stiffy' one expects in a graveyard.
Thank you, thank you. I'm here all week! |

| Malek is playing 'Safin'.
Dangerous. Brilliant. Iconic even.
Where are the names like Dr. No, Mr. Big, Carver and Elektra King? Striking names. Safin sounds like a herb. |

| First name or last name? Thinking of Marat Safin, the former Russian tennis player of Tatar ethnicity. |

| I think it's supposed to be something like Renard or Necros.
Yes, my mind went straight to Marat Safin too. Maybe there will be a tennis scene in the movie. |

| No Cregg will definitely play. But Moneypenny, Tanner, Q and M will definitely be ballboyspeople (can't have that terminology these days). |

| The lack of originality on display here makes one pine for even the worst or most out there nonsensical later Gardner books which are Shakespearean by comparison. |

Probably for the best. He seems to have the dick of death. |

| Very spoilerish feature about the whole Vesper shebang, that somehow got missed yesterday due to the film delay announcement.
http://www.premiere.fr/Cinema/News-Cinema/James-Bond-voila-comment-Mourir-peut-attendre-fera-le-lien-avec-Casino-Royale
Here's a Google Translate version:
Daniel Craig's latest Bond will not forget the movie where he became 007.
Attention, spoiler to follow on the beginning of Dying can wait, 25th James Bond film.
The cornerstone of Daniel Craig's James Bond, Casino Royale remains a benchmark, fourteen years after its release. And the film by Martin Campbell has obviously inspired Cary Joji Fukunaga, director of Dying Can Wait.
During a filming visit last October to Pinewood studios, Première was able to chat with other journalists with the set designer Mark Tildesley (28 Days later, Sunshine, Good Morning England ...).
The latter told us what will happen at the beginning of Dying can wait:
“Bond and Madeleine Swann (Léa Seydoux) always have a romantic relationship. They travel across Europe in their Aston Martin and travel to Matera, Italy. This is where the grave of Vesper Lynd (Eva Green), the one who betrayed him in Casino Royale, is found, and we could see him die in the extraordinary scene of the elevator that sinks to the bottom of the 'water. She is buried in a family vault. As a psychologist, Madeleine persuades him to visit Vesper's grave, so that he can grieve. They put their suitcases in a magnificent hotel and the next morning, he will meditate on the grave. Except that it suddenly explodes in his face. He is not far from dying, but he manages to get out of it and goes to fetch Madeleine. But she receives a text message on her phone: "Well done." And he is tormented, paranoid, convinced that another person he loves has betrayed him. They then separate and he leaves by train. "
We obviously think at the end of Her Majesty's Secret Service, in which Tracy Bond dies tragically, and especially for Nothing but your eyes where James Bond went to his wife's grave. Dying can wait hide other references to previous films in the franchise? |

| Thanks for sharing Stamper! It sounds terrible. If it was a good idea, Fleming would have created a novel that kicks off with Vesper's grave exploding, since he referenced Bond's visits to her grave in OHMSS. But again, why are Bond's more meaningful actions/character so influenced by women in these films? From Bond's dress sense in CR to Bond visiting a grave... He didn't need the input of others in the books to do these things. Also, why is Vesper buried in Matera, of all places? She's English, Lynd isn't an Italian name. In the book, she was buried in France, which is where she died. I'm trying to work out how they can reconcile Madeleine's history with Felix asking Bond for help in the mission and then these two elements correlating. Feeling a little TMWTGG-esque with its unsuccessful merging of the Solex and Bond hunting Scaramanga. |

| FFS...
Maybe it's for a flashback of Bond losing his virginity. Wasn't it at a French brothel as per one of the Fleming short stories?
Nah, who am I kidding, it's gonna be some deep n' gritty daddy issues shit.
Who do they make these movies for again? I'm pretty sure that neither casual filmgoers or hardcore Bond fans go and watch these movies for a deep dive into 007's childhood dramas. Can they just let it fucking go already? |
