The mask to me seems almost like a stand in for CG replacement.

Hmm... I remember shots of Waltz BTS with motion sensors and whatever else they used to digitally create the scar in post. It wasn't as protracted as this mask.

I am inclined to think it's an in-character injury-covering thing as opposed to a digital facial replacement thing, but we'll see I guess.

I'm hoping there's no explanation for it. It's just the quirk of this villain.

Supposedly just after the titles sequence. Nothing with Madeleine yet. Hmm...

As the general thread for Bond 25 has recently become pretty much unusable, I'll put this here ... one rumour has it that Malek's character is Blofeld after plastic surgery (DAF callback?). If true, it does mean that Shatterhand as a title would make a certain kind of sense.

I suppose Malek and Waltz have similarly short statures... I don't mind that - certainly a deviation from what we've come to expect from this era.

But just in case, I don't want Shatterhand wasted here.

Babs signed the "it's not -----> Shatterhand" fan card. Doubtful she'd do that if it was. If it is, that would be one hell of a collectors' item in the years to come, I'd imagine.

It's certainly an easier plot device to roll with than DAD's Moon-into-Graves DNA manipulation.

I'm banning myself in this thread...read too many spoilers for all movies in the Craig era which somewhat ruins the experience in the cinema...so trying to avoid repeating that this time.

But not before I loudly groan about the possible reappearance of the tarnished Brother Blofeld charactes now even wackier with a Freddie Mercury makeover.

OK this looks somewhat Phlemingesque so maybe I won't hate this...

Am wondering if some of those pics bear out my theory about Bond and Madeline's domestic bliss being shattered by an attack on them pre-credits/early in the film. Something's made him draw his gun during his fishing funtimes, after all.

The cigar's interesting ... a scene or between-takes downtime?

Brilliant. Reminds me of Arnold's 'Welcome to Cuba' track. Doubtful we'll get something like that though. Too playful for this version of 007.

My first thought, too. Though why would he have his gun if he's not on active service?

And yeah the cigar is interesting. Maybe a new tradition to have Bond smoke a cigar in their last films, as started with Brosnan.

Yep would love the cigar thing, it would create an instant uproar of indignation online = free publicity.

I think Brosnan sucking on a fat Cuban (ooh matron) in DAD drew little-to-no flak, although I may be wrong. And nobody seems too bothered that Craig's Bond is the first to actually get a bit inebriated from his alcohol consumption.

Always amused me that there's a Surgeon General's warning about the dangers of smoking in the credits of LTK and nothing about the dangers of ... well, everything else in the movie.

From the Trivia section on IMDB - 'First James Bond movie to include tobacco warnings in its closing credits. This was in the form of a United States Surgeon General warning. Smoking of tobacco, cigarettes, and cigars occurs in numerous Bond movies, and this is the only one of them to include a health warning. The film featured product placement of the Philip Morris Company's Lark cigarettes.'

Yep it's right there int he LTK credits.
Brozzer only smoked a cigar in DAD because it's a matter of Cuban culture and pride and to show respect to that long tradition IIRC.

They can't do that. Not after their shaky foundations set in SP. She didn't want "that life" with Bond, she gets kidnapped, Bond saves her and then they go off into the sunset. For her to pipe up and say she doesn't want to live that life again and leaves Bond would be laughable.

I definitely think that Daniel Craig now looks too old for the role, based on those candids.

I agree, though there's so much chatter on the net about how great he looks. I think he looks a little ill, if I'm honest.
